The area around Lago di Garda, Arco, and Valle di Ledro is famous among mountain enthusiasts for via ferratas.
What are via ferratas?
They are steep routes equipped with steel cables and steps fixed with large stanchions drilled into the rock for safety. The ferratas in our area vary greatly in difficulty, length, and panoramic exposure.
The line of ascent is never accidental but instead carefully designed for a specific purpose. This is generally to reach a mountain summit by following the most logical and interesting features of the mountain. Sometimes they retrace historic routes where only the most skilled local mountain folk used to pass, often with very few and precarious means of protection. Other times the aim is to reach panoramic positions of unique beauty. Progression along the routes is slow but steady, and reasonably easy thanks to the cables and steps that lead unfailingly upwards towards the summit.
Trentinoclimb offer the service of our professional Alpine Guides to teach the correct use of the necessary safety equipment and accompany you along the routes.
These are unforgettable experiences, especially the many spectacular sections suspended above Lago di Garda.
Here we propose a selection of five of our favourite ferratas, describing them in terms of difficulty, natural beauty, and overall physical demands to help you choose your route. However, you are always free to ask for more advice from our office by telephone or through the website contacts. Alternatively, you can visit our base in Pieve di Ledro during the summer evenings where we will be delighted to help you plan out your own fantastic excursion.
If you go with our TRENTINOCLIMB guides, we organize everything for the trip and provide all the technical equipment required.
