Who is Mirko Corn?

Mirko Corn- Trentino Climb Mirko Corn has been a mountain guide since 2003. I was born on July 7th 1976.
I started my mountaineering career at 13 in the Povo section of the SAT, Trentino’s alpine club.
Here I met my first masters, who taught me to make knots, to respect the mountain and to be careful.

During the summer, the Povo section of the SAT used to organize mountaineering excursions for kids and I used to take part to those trips and that is how I started to climb mountains and glaciers; it was the summer of 1989 when I climbed the North route on Wildspitze (3850m, my best ascent of those times).
That same year, in the fall, my friends and I started rock climbing after a short course organized by the Povo SAT section. Compared to now that very young athletes are trained to perform at the highest level, my technical improvements were rather slow.

Most of all, I have learned thanks to the happy ending adventures I have lived with my friends, so I basically consider myself a self-taught mountaineer. In 1995 I had to serve in the military, so I spent the whole year as a rock climbing instructor in the army (Alpini Corps).

In the summer of 1996 my technical skills improved enormously thanks to Franco Corn, a mountain guide and amazing mountaineer, with whom I climbed many routes in the Dolomites, like the Fassani Edge (spigolo dei Fassani) on Vallaccia (the most beautiful climb of that summer, grade 7 - A3 ).
I was 20, but since then I have been concentrated on new and more demanding objectives or, at least, that is the way I see them.
In 2001 I attended the courses to become a professional mountain guide; this gave me the chance to meet other candidates and experienced mountaineers and to exchange views with them improving constantly.

Mirko Corn- Trentino Climb With the professional courses, the number of possible adventure partners increased considerably and my technical abilities grew again.
Thanks to this training, over the last few years I have been able to climb important routes in the Dolomites, some of which were opened by some of the best climbers around, like Rolando Larcher (Attriti verticali zero, 7c max, 7b obligatory), Maurizio Giordani (Specchio di Sara, 7c), Roland Mitterstainer (Vogelfrei, 7b+), Adam Holzknecht (Plicka, 7+), Oscar Celva (Rosa Selvatica, 7c ), Bruno Pederiva e Heinz Mariacher (Tuoni e fulmini, 7c), Igor Coller (Via attraverso il Pesce 7 b ), Maurizio Zanolla (Lucertola schizofrenica, 7b), Ivo Rabansen and the famous Maffei - Frizzera team (Il canto del cigno, 7b+).

10 years ago I started to spend the winter in val di Fiemme and Fassa.

At the beginning, I used to work on ski slopes. Then I started guiding: free-ride skiing, ice-climbing and snowshoeing tours.

I dedicated all my time to get to know these mountains well and I think I have skied in every off-piste trail and down every couloir of this corner of the Alps (Canale Holzer, Marmolada, val Mesdì, Setus, Culeia, Canali del Cristallo, and many others).

I have enough experience and professional knowledge to guide clients and let them enjoy the mountain to the full.

My experience is at your service.
